food was so good! ordered the omakase and kaisendon, ginza roll and rentai roll my favorite was definitely the kaisendon

Went here for anniversary date with my hubby~ Service is top notch and fish is fresh and delicious. Got the Kaisen Don, Chef's Sashimi Platter, Rantei roll, and Salmon Crunchy roll. Very filling for two people! Cute atmosphere with private tatami seating. Cozy ambiance with limited seating but wait time isn't too long around 7pm

Great ambiance. Ordered the chirashi don, green island roll, and chicken cartilage yakitori. Would recommend yakitori!

Came here on a Friday night around 5pm. Had tried to call to make a reservation during the day, but the voicemail was full. We were a party of 8, and were able to get a tatami room. Parking- there are street parking and a back parking lot. Just a few handicap spots. Food- Kaisen Don- oh my goodness, the uni was so fresh. I usually don't like it. But it was so smooth and not fishy. Omakase Sashimi- the salmon was sooooo fresh, it reminded me of our trip to Tokyo at the Fish Market. Many of the pieces were toro like cuts. Katsu Chicken Curry- nice and crispy, the curry is slightly darker in color and has a little bit of a kick Tempura Udon- everything was so fresh especially the fried tempura Rolls- Cali roll was the usual nothing unique Salmon Skin roll- it was very crunchy and saucy Teriyaki Chicken- it was the most basic and average. Return Factor- yes, especially for any of the sashimi dishes. It is melt in your mouth sashimi.

Arrived at Rantei at 5:30pm for my besties birthday and there was no wait. The hype definitely died down since a few years ago. There used to be a waitlist right at opening! I still think they have fresh fish with beautiful presentation! I love coming here for special occasions. Especially since its SO pricey. We got the Chirashi Don Deluxe which was so yummy and a few rolls. Service was fast and almost too fast to the point where me and my friend felt a little rushed at the end (to be expected because at that time there was a wait). Definitely looking forward to come back here.

I'm surprised I have yet to try this restaurant considering it's in a busier area of Santa Clara. My friend and I came here on a holiday weekday night and waited for around 30 minutes before our table was ready. I enjoyed the wooden interior in the large restaurant, and we were seated in an area hidden from outside view. We ordered the Bay Scallop special roll, Sakura special roll, and sake. Although the rolls were slightly smaller than what I was used to, both rolls were unique and delicious! The Bay Scallop roll had fresh scallop and the Sakura Roll had pretty and tasty seared salmon. I wish that we would have ordered more rolls to try, but I would love to come back and try the other delicious rolls!
